Audits - Getting Ready

There are many different types of audits that relate to improving operations in the areas of compliance, quality assurance, security and risk.

The time taken to get ready for an audit depends on how much documentation; policies, processes and procedures, are already in place and being applied successfully.

More often than not, an internal pre-audit is undertaken as a form of gap analysis to identify the shortfall in any requirements. There needs to be sufficient time to apply new documentation to ensure that it not only works, but there is an adequate lead time of records in place for the audit process.

What We Do.

We'll help you get ready for an audit - either internal or external. We can also work alongside your team or appointed auditor.

There are a number of different ways we do this:
  • If you don't have all the documentation in place to support your accreditation, application, registration or compliance audit, we work with you to prepare your processes, policies and procedures so a complete system has time to be instigated and then internally audited.
  • If you already have documentation in place, then we undertake a gap analysis of not only the documents available, but how they are being interpreted or applied by staff. This often uncovers an underlying need to enhance or retrain staff in aspects of the processes that may not be clear or are being left out altogether.
  • We work with you and your team to pull together all the samples of internal documentation you need for the auditor. Often, when an audit is required, internal staff are already stretched with day-to-day demands without having to add another project of this calibre.
  • We assist in filling any gaps or shortfalls following the audit. Further, we can liaise with the auditor on your behalf to assist in coordinating the process.
